When it comes to holiday movies, everyone has a favorite. Whichever it may be, there’s no denying that Home Alone always has a place on the best-of list. This holiday classic has enchanted audiences since its release in 1990, and the lore around it only grows with each passing year thanks to its amazing cast and memorable moments. Now, LEGO has released a 3,955-piece set inspired by one of the most iconic elements of the movie—the amazing house where Kevin McAllister, the main character, lives and fends off the Wet Bandits, two burglars who think the entire family is gone for Christmas.

This detailed LEGO set allows you to reenact your favorite scenes, from when Kevin puts on aftershave in front of the mirror to the moving reunion with his mom at the end of the film. However, no Home Alone LEGO set would be complete without all the booby traps Kevin relies on to fight the intruders, from the iron Marv takes to the face—the mark of which can be seen on the burglar's minifig—to the tarantula that escapes Kevin's older brother's room.

Just as iconic as the house is Harry and Marv's blue grey van, so of course the design team made it part of the set. It features five minifigures—Kevin, his mom, Marv, Harry, and even “Old Man” Marley, who Kevin inspires to make amends with his son in one of the movie's most endearing scenes. The best part about the McAllister house set is that it can be opened, revealing all the rooms and hideouts that can be seen in the movie—including the basement and the treehouse.

While the connection between the movie and the holiday season is undeniable, the outdoor holiday decoration of the brick house furthers the festive feeling, making it the perfect Christmas gift for a movie lover.

The Home Alone set is now available on LEGO's online store and Amazon.

LEGO has released a Home Alone set featuring the McAllister's house and the Wet Bandit's van, among other iconic elements of this holiday movie.

No Home Alone LEGO set would be complete without all the booby traps Kevin relies on to fight the intruders.

For people who commute or travel, a good quality pair of headphones is a must. Usually, this means choosing between wireless earphones or ones that fit over-the-ears, but soon, there will be another option. British technology company Dyson—known for its array of vacuums—is debuting its first wearable product. Called Dyson Zone, this unique pair of headphones not only cancels outside noise, but it also purifies the air you breathe.

Created over a six-year period, this unique product offers the latest in audio and purifying technology, ideal for those living in cities and urban areas. “Air pollution is a global problem—it affects us everywhere we go. In our homes, at school, at work, and as we travel, whether on foot, on a bike or by public or private transport. The Dyson Zone™ purifies the air you breathe on the move,” says chief engineer Jake Dyson. “And unlike face masks, it delivers a plume of fresh air without touching your face, using high-performance filters and two miniaturized air pumps. After six years in development, we’re excited to deliver pure air and pure audio, anywhere.”

As the Dyson Zone headphones cancel noise pollution, the earpieces can simultaneously absorb air that is then filtered and delivered to the visor surrounding a person's nose and mouth. The visor comes with an electrostatic filter that lasts up to 12 months before requiring a replacement. Similarly, the headphones are capable of 38 decibels of noise cancellation and are compatible with Bluetooth, SBC, AC, and LHDC audio codecs. When not using the visor, the Dyson Zone headphones can last for about 50 hours; however, the battery time decreases to 4 hours when taking advantage of the air filtration system at its lowest setting. The medium filtration makes battery life 2.5 hours; high filtration makes battery life 1.5 hours.

The Dyson Zone will be available for pre-order by appointment only for U.S. customers beginning in March. Later, the headphones will be available to purchase via Dyson's website and through Dyson Demo stores starting at $949.

From planters to mugs, ceramics influence many aspects of our lives. So, choosing certain pottery pieces can make a big impact on the decor of your house, and your own personal style. That is why maker Christine Tenenholtz crafts exquisite ceramic pieces with a playful twist. Her array of rainbow-colored creations inspires joy and evokes happy childhood memories.

Based in New Mexico, Tenenholtz has been making ceramics for 30 years. As she honed her skills on the wheel and handling glazes, her approach has also changed over time.”Now that I'm older, I'm choosing to make whatever feels fun and inspiring at the moment,” she tells My Modern Met. “That's pretty much my creative ethos these days. I will get an idea to combine lines and color in a graphic way on a piece, and I may do some sketching or test glaze colorways, but I don't really know what to expect until I hold the fired piece in my hands, or view it on the table in a grouping of from 10 feet away, or drink from a cup that I've made.” Lately, this has resulted in whimsical pieces that are enhanced by bold strips of opalescent colors, sometimes paired with shiny gold accents.

Reflecting on the finished product is a major part of Tenenholtz's creative process. “It's important that I sit with my pieces a bit, live with them for a few days or weeks, and observe those feelings within myself, and oftentimes that drives the process a little further—inspiring refinements or new directions,” she adds. And although she has her own relationship with these pieces, she invites others to form their own connection to the colors and lines—finding brand new meanings in the art. “For many folks, colors are deeply significant and evocative of really good memories, or childhood remnants…so oftentimes I get emails from customers, telling me that there is a special emotional attachment to their mug, planter, or whatever it is. I love the thread of connection I get to experience with folks through my work.”

Beloved toy company LEGO has done it again. The Danish company has taken inspiration from the real world and rendered it in a set of its iconic buildable toy blocks. Coming in at a grand total of 10,001 pieces, the LEGO Icons Eiffel Tower set is an incredible replica of the iconic Parisian landmark. When completed, the mini-tower stands at around 58 inches tall. This is around the height of your average standing lamp, a medium-sized Christmas tree, or Danny DeVito, and it makes it LEGO’s tallest set ever. Aptly described as “an awe-inspiring challenge,” it’s no wonder why this set begins the Travel and History LEGO Sets for Adults series and makes its mark as the series’ flagship model.

LEGO’s intricately thought-out design pays homage to the construction of the original wrought-iron lattice tower and it’s easy to see its scaled down likeness to the original 1,083-foot-tall Eiffel Tower. LEGO says consumers can “recreate history” in their own homes through the construction process, consisting of completing four separate sections with handles that can then be attached on top of one another, much like how the original tower was constructed. Their “faithfully geometric design” includes aspects such as arches, cross bracing, railings, observation decks, and even an elevator.

No portion of the design was left unplanned— even below the structure, the esplanade has Parisian benches, lampposts, and trees; and sitting atop the tower is a tiny French flag. (The view of the LEGO tower from the esplanade below is so similar to real life that photographers have even used the LEGO set to fake nearly believable Eiffel Tower photoshoots.) And as an example of LEGO’s recycling cleverness, one fan pointed out that the pieces used as railings for the observation deck are actually hot dog pieces.

This set is designed to be a fun challenge that keeps the interior design of consumers’ homes in mind. And though it does have a large price tag attached to it ($629.99), fans have pointed out what a bargain it actually is. On average, buying a single brick from the LEGO website could cost around $0.15, but this set is less than a penny per brick. And, if purchased by December 31, 2022, the set will come with an additional LEGO set of Gustave Eiffel’s office at the top of the Eiffel Tower.

Avid LEGO fans are raving about the replica tower, using it as a creative challenge, a home decor piece, and proof of LEGO’s ingenuity.
